This statement explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to this website and to any information you provide to us.
1. Information we collect
When you request a quote through the form on this website, we collect the information you provide:
- Contact details: your first and last name, company name (if any), email address and phone number.
- Address: your street address, unit, city, province and postal code.
- Service details: the service you are looking for, whether your move or storage is local or long-distance, your current property type, the rooms involved, the date or dates you need our services, any other details you choose to share, and how you heard about us.
- Your communication choices: whether you agree to receive marketing emails and marketing text messages (SMS).
When you visit, we also collect limited technical information automatically:
- Usage and technical data: information such as your approximate location, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at our site. This is collected through Google Analytics, and only if you accept analytics cookies (see the Cookies section below).
- Advertising data: if you accept marketing cookies, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel collect information such as the pages you visit and whether you click a "Get a Quote" button, so we can measure our advertising campaigns.
- Your preferences: your language choice and your cookie-consent selections, so the site can remember them on your next visit.
2. Why we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Prepare and send the quote you request, and communicate with you about your moving or storage needs.
- Schedule and provide the services you book, including visit reminders and other transactional text messages (SMS) sent to the phone number you provide. You can reply STOP at any time to stop these messages.
- Send you marketing emails or marketing text messages, but only if you checked the matching box on the form. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time, or reply STOP MKT to stop marketing text messages.
- Understand how visitors use this website so we can improve its content, navigation, and performance (through Google Analytics).
- Measure the performance of our advertising campaigns (through Google Ads and the Meta Pixel), only if you accept marketing cookies.
- Remember your language and cookie-consent preferences.
- Maintain the security and proper operation of this website.
- Meet our obligations under applicable privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
3. Consent
By providing your information to RUBOX, you consent to its collection and use for the purposes above. Where the law requires explicit, written, or separate consent for a specific use, we will ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer (section 8). Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to deliver the services you have asked for.
4. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only:
- With Johnson Moving & Storage, whose team runs RUBOX Mobile Storage. Your quote request is handled by that same team, and messages you agree to receive through the form come from Johnson Moving & RUBOX Mobile Storage.
- With Jobber, the service that operates our quote request form and stores your request so we can prepare your quote and schedule the work. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which analyzes certain technical data (such as your IP address and how you interact with the page) to prevent spam and abuse. Jobber's handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy.
- With Google Analytics, which processes technical data to help us understand website traffic and usage patterns, and only if you accept analytics cookies. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- With advertising and campaign-measurement platforms (Google Ads and Meta), through marketing pixels, but only if you accept marketing cookies. These help us run and measure our advertising campaigns. Each platform handles data under its own privacy policy.
- When you click a "Get a Quote" button, a conversion signal is sent to Google Ads and Meta to measure campaign results, if you have accepted marketing cookies. This signal indicates that the quote form was opened; it does not include anything you enter in the form.
- With Google Maps, which displays the map on our contact page and receives technical information (such as your IP address) when the map loads.
- With the service provider that hosts this website, which accesses information only as needed to operate and maintain the site and is bound by appropriate confidentiality terms.
- Where required or permitted by law, including in response to a lawful request from a public authority.
This website links to external sites, including our Facebook and Instagram pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information. We encourage you to review their policies.
5. Where your information is stored
Your information is stored in Canada whenever possible. Some service providers may process limited technical information (for example, web analytics) outside Canada. Where this happens, the information is subject to the laws of the country where it is processed, including lawful access by authorities in that country.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file
placed on your device by your browser. We group cookies into three categories:
- Necessary cookies are required for the site to work, for
example to remember your language choice and your consent preferences. Google
reCAPTCHA, which protects our forms from spam and abuse, is also included in
this category. These are always on and cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the
site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4, which does not log or store IP addresses.
These cookies are off by default.
- Marketing cookies are used to measure the performance of
awareness campaigns we run on third-party platforms. These cookies are off by
default.
Analytics and marketing cookies are loaded only after you accept them. Until you
make a choice, only necessary cookies run, and Google Consent Mode v2 keeps
ad_storage and analytics_storage set to denied.
You can change your choices at any time by clicking Cookie preferences
in the footer. Clearing your cookies will reset your preferences and the consent
banner will appear again on your next visit.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this statement and to meet any record retention obligations that apply to us. Records are retained for seven (7) years, after which they are destroyed or anonymized in a secure manner. Website analytics data is retained for fourteen (14) months.
8. Your rights and our Privacy Officer
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw your consent and ask us to stop using your information.
- Receive a copy of your information in a structured format, where the law requires it.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we maintain the safeguards expected of a responsible organization.
